Historic Preservationist
Mary works to preserve the landmarks, stories, and rural character that define Chuckatuck Borough. She has supported historic protection efforts involving the Hobson National Register designation, Cypress Chapel Christian Church’s 276-year marker, and the Contraband Historical Society.
Community Advocate
Mary has advocated for community restoration, disability inclusion, land rights, infrastructure solutions, and the concerns of individual residents. Her work includes support for restoring American Sign Language interpreters at public city meetings and reinstating the Suffolk Persons with Disabilities Commission.
Proven Action for Our Borough
Mary Hill believes leadership is measured by the work it delivers.
She has partnered with workforce and sustainability organizations, supported the seafood industry and watermen, advocated for economic independence, studied zoning solutions to address predatory practices and hazardous standing water, and helped a senior veteran couple pursue a safer mailbox location away from dangerous traffic on Route 10 / Godwin Boulevard.
